EMDR Therapy Nolensville, TN
There can be room for what you need alongside all the people who need things from you.
Anxiety isn’t only something you think. It’s something you feel. A knot in your stomach before a busy day. A tight chest that won’t loosen. Shoulders that creep up toward your ears. Nights when you’re exhausted and still can’t fall asleep.
If your body has been carrying your stress for a while, you’re in the right place. I see adults from Nolensville at my office in Brentwood, a short drive away in Maryland Farms, and I’d love to help your body remember what calm feels like.

Why anxiety lives in the body
When your mind senses danger, your body gets ready to protect you. Your heart speeds up, your muscles brace, and your breathing turns shallow. That’s the fight or flight response, and it’s meant to pass once the moment is over. When stress never lets up, your body can get stuck there.
That’s why anxiety so often shows up physically. The National Institute of Mental Health lists headaches, muscle aches, stomachaches, trouble sleeping, and feeling out of breath among the signs of generalized anxiety.
If you’ve already seen your doctor and heard that nothing is physically wrong, anxiety may be part of the picture. Your symptoms are real, and they deserve care.
Gentle, body centered care
When anxiety runs high, it’s natural to want to escape your body rather than feel everything happening inside it. Part of our work is helping you feel at home in your body again, slowly and safely.
Brainspotting is one of the approaches I use for this. It works with where you look to reach stress held deep in the body and brain, often beyond words, and helps your nervous system rebalance. I also use EMDR to process the experiences that keep setting off your alarm system, along with simple grounding and breathing skills you can use anywhere.
What I’m hoping for with you is a body that feels safer, a mind that feels quieter, and more ease in your everyday life. If you’d like to read more, I’ve written about the link between trauma and physical illness.
